Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Create Your Digital Clone

Why is now the perfect time to create an interactive digital clone of yourself or your colleagues, especially one that uses video? The answer is

simple: because you can.

Now, I understand that just because you can do something doesn’t always mean you should. But in this case, the positives far outweigh the negatives, making it a clear-cut decision.

Yes, I’m aware that some people are concerned about the rise of artificial intelligence and generative AI, worrying that it might lead to dystopian outcomes. These are legitimate concerns, but they’re not within the scope of this book. However, I do want to address the fact that creating a digital clone of yourself is unlikely to trigger any doomsday scenarios.

To clarify, we’re not talking about building robots or physical entities that could cause harm in the real world. We’re talking about a digital tool that lives in the virtual space, designed to share information and insights in a highly interactive way. Whether someone interacts with your clone via text, audio, or video, it’s all about converting inputs into meaningful, helpful outputs. Your clone absorbs questions, processes them, and then provides responses that mimic your voice and demeanor, creating the  illusion of  conversational  flow.  This  is  complex

technology, but it’s certainly not something that will end the world.

There are safeguards in place to prevent misuse of clones. For example, my clone is designed to ensure that it can’t be manipulated into saying or doing something harmful or inappropriate. It won’t perform silly tricks like clucking like a chicken or spouting offensive remarks. It draws from a database of my ideas and knowledge, specifically curated to help others.

So, while it’s important to be mindful of the broader implications of AI, I believe that using a digital clone to share your expertise with the world is a positive step forward. Now is the time to do it.

Another reason to act now is that you’ll likely be the first in your industry, niche, or community to create a digital clone. There’s a significant advantage to being a first mover. Throughout history, we’ve seen countless examples of the benefits of being the first to adopt new technologies.

Take Gary Vaynerchuk, for example. He was the first person to create a daily show about wine at the dawn of social media, and that early move helped establish him as a major figure in the online world. Similarly, the first universities in the United States Harvard and William & Mary gained prominence, with Harvard still arguably the most prestigious. The first-mover advantage can be substantial, and the same principle applies to digital clones.

Right now, we’re at a point where the technology to create digital clones is accessible to non-tech professionals like you and me. There are platforms specifically designed for creating digital clones without needing millions of

dollars or a team of engineers. It’s as easy as recording a video on your phone, and the results can be transformative.

In the 1970s and 80s, making videos was expensive and complicated. You needed a production team, camera operators, and editors. Today, anyone with a smartphone can create a video that reaches millions. The same ease of use now applies to creating digital clones. The technology has matured, and generative AI capabilities are in place.

So, don’t wait. Don’t finish this book and think, “That was interesting; maybe one day I’ll make a digital clone.” Do it now. I’m convinced that in the near future, having a digital clone will be as commonplace as having a LinkedIn profile. Just as LinkedIn has become essential for anyone in the professional world, digital clones will soon be a standard tool for anyone who wants to scale their expertise.

I remember when simply having a business website was enough to get you front

-and-center attention online. That’s not the case anymore, and it won’t be long before digital clones become equally ubiquitous. But if you create your clone now, you can reap the rewards of being an early adopter, positioning yourself as a thought leader and innovator in your field.

Whether you’re looking to share your knowledge, grow your brand, or expand your business, a digital clone offers an incredible opportunity to do so. The best part is that the cost and complexity have decreased dramatically, making this the perfect time to get started. I’m excited for you to take this journey and see the transformative impact it can have on your life and career.
